Divine Nine: Sigma Gamma Rho
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the first and only sorority in the Divine Nine to not be founded at Howard University or at an HBCU. Their seven founders sought to enhance the quality of life within the community during the harsh racial segregation times on the predominantly white campus in which they were founded.
